Project Summary

National Geographic Education (NG Education) is the educational outreach arm of the National Geographic Society. NG Education creates compelling educational materials for young people, provides unique learning experiences to educators, and advocates for improved education in geography, the environmental sciences, geotechnology, and other disciplines that are critical to understanding our planet. Our commitment to strengthening geography education is further supported through the Education Foundation grantmaking program, which awards more than five million dollars in grants annually to support teacher training, outreach, and other initiatives that promote geo-literacy. Since 1985, the Foundation has awarded more than 80 million dollars to programs and organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
